I love playing video poker in Downtown Vegas. You’ll find some of the best paytables and progressives up and down Fremont Street.
In this article, I’ll highlight the best video poker bars in Downtown Las Vegas.
A quick look at the best video pokers bars in Downtown Vegas
- Best Overall: Vue Bar
- Best Beer: Chicago Brewing Co.
- Best Drink Service: Overhang Bar
- Best Progressives: Furnace Bar
- Best Odds: Omaha Bar
1. Vue Bar at The D
The best video poker bars in Downtown Las Vegas conclude with my favorite. Vue Bar at The D has a great full-pay progressive 25¢ Bonus Poker!
While the game selection is meager, the drink service and flare bartending make up for it.
It may just be me, but some bars can feel pretty tight, not Vue Bar.
I’ve hit my share of straight flushes, four-of-a-kind progressives, and an endless stream of full houses.
If you like Bonus Poker and great cocktails, check out Vue Bar at The D.
2. Chicago Brewing Co. at Four Queens
I love Chicago Brewing. It’s where you’ll find the best craft beer on Fremont Street.
The small, intimate cigar bar has a handful of video poker machines that offer the same video poker odds as all three bars at Four Queens.
All three bars are great, but I’m a craft beer fan, and the IPA at Chicago Brewing is delicious.
They’ll comp your beer and drinks just like any other bar on property, but it feels a little extra special here.
If you enjoy cigars, grab a porter or brown ale and indulge in one of the hidden gems of Fremont Street.
The only downside to the video poker bars at Four Queens is the $16 per point policy for the rewards program. Even the 99.54% Jacks or Better machines offer their standard $8/point.
3. Furnace Bar at Downtown Grand
I have had my share of luck at The Furnace Bar at Downtown Grand. In February 2021, I hit the Four Aces with a Kicker on the Double Double Bonus progressive for a cool $513.75.
The Furnace Bar sits in the heart of the casino adjacent to the table games pit. The bar offers 8/5 Bonus Poker and 99.11% Double Bonus at 25¢, 50¢, $1, and $2 denominations.
The Double Double Bonus is slightly different with a 25¢ progressive at 97.87% and 98.98% at 50¢, $1, and $2 denominations.
Furnace Bar is an ideal spot for video poker players looking for a couple of beers or cocktails with full-pay tables and a great laid-back atmosphere. The bar also features great bar food specials like hamburgers and cheese curds.
4. Overhang Bar at Circa
Video poker players who like full-pay tables aren’t going to like Circa, but it’s the best Downtown Vegas hotel.
If you want to watch your favorite team and play video poker, there’s no better option than the Overhang Bar at Circa overlooking the best sportsbook in Las Vegas.
You’re going to be limited to playing 98.49% Bonus Delux at 25¢, 50¢, $1, $2, $5 denominations.
The video poker machines adjacent to the Overhang Bar looking over the sportsbook offer the same paytable but without the 25¢ option.
Let’s just say the rest of Circa’s offerings are a seat rental for the game. That said, I have had a bit of luck at the Overhang, including four aces on opening night for $400.
5. Omaha Bar at Plaza
For the best paytables across the most games, the Omaha Bar at Plaza is your best bet.
The bar features 25¢, 50¢, $1, $2 denominations for 9/6 Jacks or Better, 8/5 Bonus Poker, 99.64% Bonus Delux, 99.11% Double Bonus, 99.07% Deuces Joker Wild, and 98.91% Deuces Wild 44. There is also a 98.98% Double Double Bonus available for 50¢ and $1.
Plaza has done a great job of providing the best value to gamblers in downtown Las Vegas. You won’t find better odds at a video poker bar, roulette wheel, or blackjack table anywhere downtown.
They also have 100.65% Joker Wild and 100.17% Double Bonus.
Nonetheless, the bar is a worthwhile trip for video poker players that have to get the best bang for their buck and a decent cocktail while they’re at it.
6. Bar Prohibition at Golden Gate
The oldest hotel on Fremont Street also has one of the coolest bars. Bar Prohibition! at Golden Gate features a handful of video poker machines next to the lively table games pit.
The energetic atmosphere makes a one-of-a-kind experience downtown.
There’s only one decent paytable on these machines; it’s 98.49% Bonus Delux at 25¢, 50¢, $1, $2, $5 denominations.
While it’s not ideal for serious video poker players, if you’re looking for a good cocktail, beer, or wine in an energetic atmosphere, this is your spot.
Golden Gate also features great full-pay machines with progressives in the back of the property that is certainly worth visiting.
The Bottom Line
The best video poker bar in Downtown Vegas is Vue Bar at The D. Fair odds, good progressives, and fantastic flare bartenders make this a must play spot.
If you like sports, I’d recommend Overhang Bar at Circa, however the odds aren’t great.
If you want pizza and beer while you play, head over to Chicago Brewing for a great gem at Four Queens.
